Fireplace Care
Before you decide to buy a fireplace, you should know that it requires regular maintenance. Here we will advise you how to keep your fireplace looking as good as new.
Everything starts with the proper placement of the fireplace. This key factor can significantly extend or shorten the so-called maintenance-free period. It is best to place the fireplace in an open but covered area, such as a garden gazebo or pergola, so that the surface of the fireplace is not directly exposed to adverse weather conditions.
To prevent corrosion caused by ever-present moisture, we recommend painting the fireplace once or twice a year with a high-temperature silicone topcoat. Before painting, remove coarse dirt using a broom, a fine wire brush, or abrasive fleece. The undiluted paint should be applied with a standard foam roller.
Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the inner walls of the fireplace using a cloth. Apply only a thin layer to avoid burning the oil during operation.
As you can see, fireplace maintenance is not demanding, and if you perform it regularly, you can enjoy the view of a beautiful and functional addition to your garden for many years.
