Installation and Connection

1. Power Connection

  • Insert the USB connector of the charger into a 5 V USB power source (computer, power bank, or wall adapter with a minimum output of 0.5 A).
  • The charger does not indicate power when no battery is inserted – the LED will light up only after the battery is connected.

2. Correct Battery Connection

  • Use a Ni-Cd/Ni-MH pack with an SM-2P connector.
  • Make sure the contacts are clean and undamaged.
  • Fully insert the battery connector into the charger port.

3. Start of Charging

  • Once the battery is correctly connected, the red LED will light up – charging is in progress.

Operation and LED Indicator Behavior

Battery Status LED Indicator Meaning
Low / partial charge Bright red Charging in progress
Fully charged battery Dim red Charging complete, switched to standby mode
  • Active charging (bright red)
During this state, the charger supplies power to the battery with a safe maximum current of approximately 200–250 mA.

  • Charging complete (dim red)
After reaching full voltage, the intelligent control circuit reduces the charging current to maintain the battery without overcharging.

Tips for Optimal Operation

1. Placement

  • Place the charger horizontally on a firm, non-flammable surface.
  • Ensure proper air circulation – do not place it in enclosed boxes or under a blanket.

2. Operating Temperature

  • The device operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to +40 °C.
  • If the charger becomes hot during operation, disconnect the battery and allow it to cool down.

3. Charging Time

  • Do not leave the battery connected unattended for more than 48 hours.
  • Regularly check that the LED indication corresponds to the expected state (bright vs. dim).

4. Contact Maintenance

  • Clean the contacts regularly with a dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Prevent corrosion – store batteries in a dry environment.

Safety Warnings

1. Use Only Specified Batteries

  • The charger is designed exclusively for Ni-Cd and Ni-MH packs with an SM-2P connector.
  • Always charge with the voltage required by the battery.
  • Never connect other types of batteries (Li-ion, lead-acid, AA, etc.).

2. Overload and Short-Circuit Protection

  • Thanks to the intelligent IC circuit, the risk of overload or short circuit is minimized.
  • Ensure that contacts are not damaged or bent to prevent short circuits.

3. Prevent Overheating

  • Do not place the charger on soft materials (pillows, blankets).
  • Do not cover it so that heat can dissipate freely.

4. Dry Environment

  • Do not expose the charger to water, rain, or high humidity.
  • In humid conditions, there is a risk of short circuit or contact corrosion.

5. Regular Battery Inspection

  • If the battery overheats, swells, or emits unusual sounds, stop charging immediately.
  • Dispose of defective batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

6. Charging Supervision

  • Do not place the charger on flammable surfaces (paper, fabric).
  • Never leave children or animals unattended near the charger during operation.
